    Law applies equally to all

Traffic Police in Jammu has once again proved that the law makes no exceptions as it applies to all alike. This fact came to fore after a vehicle reportedly used by Bollywood actor Askhay Kumar to attend an event in Jammu has been seized by the Traffic Police Jammu for allegedly violating the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act (MVA).

Although the incident has started a debate on social media platforms with some criticizing the move by the Traffic Police and many supporting the same with a claim that no one is above the law and whatever the men in blue have done is right in the eyes of law.

Those cops who have taken the lead by setting this example that it is immaterial that who is driving a vehicle or who is the owner of the same because as per law everybody has to face the action in case there is any breaking of law. The action taken by the cops in the aforesaid matter is therefore fully justified and has percolated a message in the society that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law. It is pertinent to mention that the actor Kumar was in the city to inaugurate a showroom of the popular jewellery brand at Dogra Chowk, Jammu.

Reportedly, after participating in the event, the actor was dropped at the airport by a white Range Rover owned by an event management company. The vehicle plying with black tinted glass beyond the permissible limits and in violation of the visibility norms under the Motor Vehicle Act was seized on its way back to the event at Dogra Chowk by a team of Traffic Police Jammu.

The cops who have accomplished this job deserve kudos for performing their duty without succumbing to any pressure or prejudice. Those sitting at positions should take a cue from these Traffic Police personnel, who have shown guts to ensure that justice should prevail no matter who is involved in the breaking of law, the penal action taken should be on the lines suggested by the law book
