Kishtwar-Sinthan road reopened for medical emergencies

Officials stated on Sunday that the Kishtwar-Sinthan route, which connects Kishtwar in Jammu with Anantnag in south Kashmir, had been reopened for medical emergencies.

Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma ordered that only the vehicles carrying the patients for medical-related emergencies would be allowed to move towards Srinagar and vice versa through Kishtwar- Sinthan route, the officials said.

Quoting the order, they said timing of the movement of permitted vehicles would be from 10 am to 4 pm only.

The Sinthan top and adjoining areas attracts heavy snowfall during winter as a result of which the road annually remains closed for five to six months from December.
