JKRCEA deputation call on Altaf Bukhari

Jammu Tawi: A deputation of Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA) today called on Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari here in Jammu.

The deputation was led by Apni Party, Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh, SC State Coordinator, Bodh Raj Bhagat and working president of JKRCEA, Prof J.L. Thappa.

They highlighted various problems being faced by them during their meeting with Altaf Bukhari.

They demanded implementation of all constitutional rights of the Constitution of India for the benefit of SC/ST and OBCs including implementation of reservation in promotions.

They informed that the promotion under reservation rules is not being implemented for the in-service officers/employees of SC/ST communities despite directions from the Supreme Court to apply reservation rules in promotions.

“The Supreme Court had ordered the status quo. However, the directives were not implemented as bureaucrats misinterpreted the Supreme Court directions,” Prof J.L. Thappa said.

Thappa informed Altaf Bukhari that even the Presidential Order of March 1, 2019 with regard to Reservation Rules in promotions were not implemented by the bureaucrats till date.

He said that “It is a blatant violation of J&K’s Reservation Act and Rules, Presidential order which extends 77th constitutional amendment to Jammu and Kashmir during the President’s Rule in J&K are the glaring examples of over activism of bureaucracy.”

He informed that the reservation rules in promotions are implemented across the country, but denied in J&K.

After hearing them patiently, Altaf Bukhari assured them that they support their cause. He assured them that they will fight for their genuine rights.
