JAMMU TAWI, Mar 11: Police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to locate two boys, Deenu (15) and Rehmat Ali (12), who went missing from Raj Bagh in Kathua district. Senior police officials have assured the families of all possible efforts to trace the missing boys.
DIG Jammu-Kathua-Samba Range Shiv Kumar Sharma visited Raj Bagh and Marheen to meet with the families of the missing boys. He was accompanied by DySP Border Dheeraj Katoch and SHO Raj Bagh Ajay Chib. Sharma assured the families that police were working tirelessly to resolve the case.
The boys had gone for cattle grazing near Bhamberwan Goat Farm but failed to return home. Concerned about their safety, their families reported the incident to Police Station Raj Bagh and filed a written complaint. In response, police registered a formal case and launched an investigation.
DIG Sharma directed the police to coordinate with authorities in Punjab, Jammu, and Udhampur for possible leads. He also ordered the creation of dedicated search teams and the circulation of the boys’ photographs to speed up their recovery.
The disappearance follows the recent discovery of three local residents found dead in a deep gorge in Billawar, raising additional concerns within the community. Authorities have urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in locating the missing boys.
