J&K: Search Op launched in Kishtwar following suspected movement

JAMMU, June 18: Security forces launched a joint search operation in the Singhpora forest area of Chatroo in Kishtwar district on Wednesday following intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists, officials said.

The operation, involving both police and army personnel, began early in the morning and was still underway at the time of the last reports. Officials stated that the area was swiftly cordoned off to prevent any potential escape by the suspected terrorists.

So far, there has been no direct contact with the militants. The search follows a series of earlier encounters in the same Chatroo belt, where three terrorists and one soldier were killed in two separate incidents in April and May this year. (Agencies)
