Jammu Tawi: In a move aimed at boosting financial transparency and compliance, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has mandated that all suppliers and contractors participating in the e-tendering process must disclose their GST-linked bank account details during bid submission.
According to a government circular, departments must ensure that payments are made only to the bank account associated with the GST number of the successful bidder. This new requirement is part of efforts to curb revenue leakage and enforce strict adherence to GST regulations.
The directive applies to all government departments and agencies involved in procurement through e-tendering. Authorities have been instructed to immediately update tender documents to reflect this mandatory disclosure.
Officials said the move is expected to tighten monitoring of financial transactions, improve accountability, and prevent tax evasion by ensuring that all bidders operate within the legal GST framework.
