JAMMU, Mar 30: Two personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF), including an inspector and a sub-inspector, were injured after being allegedly assaulted by locals in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Monday, officials said.
The incident took place around 1.30 am in Gujjar Basti Dwarkapuri in the Supwal area when the two personnel had gone there in connection with an investigation.
Officials said a group of locals attacked the BSF personnel, leaving them injured. The injured were shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
The motive behind the assault was not immediately known.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the attack. Security has been tightened in the area, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved, officials added. (Agencies)
