NEW DELHI, Mar 30: The Centre has made an ad hoc allocation of Public Distribution System (PDS) kerosene to States and Union Territories for household use as a 60-day emergency measure to ease pressure on LPG supplies.
According to an official order, the kerosene will be used for cooking and lighting purposes.
The government has decided to temporarily reintroduce PDS kerosene in 21 States and Union Territories that were earlier declared PDS SKO-free.
The move aims to ensure continued access to essential fuel for households facing constraints in LPG availability for basic domestic needs. (Agencies)
