Budgam, Nov 15: At least five people were killed this evening after a speeding dumper crashed into a passenger taxi on the under-construction Srinagar Ring Road near Waterwani in Budgam district.
Officials said the Sumo vehicle, carrying passengers from Mahwara and heading toward Budgam, was violently struck by a dumper coming from the opposite direction. The collision was so powerful that the taxi was left completely mangled, causing fatal injuries to multiple occupants.
Locals, along with police teams, rushed to the spot and pulled victims from the wreckage. Preliminary reports confirmed at least five fatalities in the tragic mishap. Further details are awaited. (Agencies)
