JFI wants liberation from ‘Islamic hegemony' in J&K

valley does not represent , , nationalists'

The two visits of the Union Home Minister to Kashmir valley recently, at a time when all shades of separatist opinion want to quit Kashmir, have only consolidated the impression that Government of India continues to hold the view that Kashmir represent whole of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, Muslims of Kashmir represent all people of the state, Hindus, Sikhs, Bhuddhists and Muslims, and last but not the least Kashmiri Sunnis represent all the Muslims of the state. This was stated here today by Prof Hari Om, convener of Jammu for India (JFI) while addressing press conference.

“Union Home Minister's inability to visit Jammu and Ladakh at a time when seditious war is being waged against the nation in the state has given an impression, loud and clear, that Government of India considers all constituencies in the state that stand by India as irrelevant and peripheral to its concerns,” said the JFI convener.

The JFI knows that the state of Jammu and Kashmir was transformed into a permanent sphere of Muslim interests from the very beginning under the cover of special status and this process is being pushed to a climax not only by the machinations of Pakistan but also by the policy designs of Government of India, said Prof Hari Om.

We are very clear in our understanding that all discrimination, all bias, all humiliation suffered by the patriotic citizens of Jammu, Ladhakh, Hindus of Kashmir, and the refugees from POJK and Pakistan has been due to the functioning of a Muslim State on the territory of India. We unequivocally demand our liberation from this Islamic dispensation, Prof Hari Om said.

“Only recently the ruling PDP has made a plea to the Islamist  secessionist  Ali Shah Geelani to treat the present Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti as a daughter and give her time to deliver the promises which she might have made to the separatists before assuming the reins of power. This plea is in fact a plea from the CM of a coalition government of PDP-BJP and by implication a plea from Government of India. What has been promised to the Hurriat leaders by those who are at the helms? What better proof other than this can be of the abject capitulation in front of the separatists? What better proof than this can be there about the constitutional break down in the state?”, he further said.

The JFI convener said it wants to state it emphatically that every concession to separatist sentiment in the state is suicidal and we hold Government of India squarely responsible for it. “To us PM's talk about POJK-Gilgit Baltistan or Balochistan appears t0 be empty slogan when the Government of India is kneeling every day before Islamist secessionists,” Prof Hari Om said.

He said there is still time to retrieve the situation and it cannot be done unless all organs of the state government perform their constitutional duty of standing up to all forms of secessionism and Islamic fundamentalism in the state.

The JFI reiterates its demand that Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and other patriotic sections of the society be liberated from the Islamic rule in the state.

Among others present included Dheerj Pargal, Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Advo Pushpinder Singh, Dr Agnishekhar, Ajaat Shatru Singh Jawal, Rajesh Dutta, Ashok Kumar.
