How County Cricket Helped Arshdeep Singh Rediscover Pace and Swing Against USA

's young left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh had struggled with maintaining consistent swing and pace in recent times. However, a county stint last year helped him regain lost confidence and skills. This was evident during India's match against USA, where Arshdeep impressed with a three-wicket haul.

The 22-year-old started the match in brilliant fashion by trapping USA opener Shayan Jahangir in front with a delivery that swung back nicely. He kept things tight in his first over before dismissing Andries Gous with a well-disguised length ball. Arshdeep troubled the USA batsmen with impressive swing and accuracy, consistently hitting the right lengths on a surface that aided pace and movement.

While doubts had emerged over Arshdeep's form and ability to bowl at optimum pace and generate swing, his county cricket stint playing against stronger opposition seemed to turn things around. Under the guidance of coach Charl Langeveldt, Arshdeep worked on refining his skills and understanding his game better. This helped him regain control, pace and the swing that made him stand out initially for India.

Arshdeep finished with excellent figures of 3/24, removing two more USA batters in the final over as they were restricted to 110/8. His efforts with the new ball set up the match for India, who chased down the target comfortably despite some hiccups. Thanks to finding his lost rhythm during county cricket, Arshdeep again looked a threatening new ball option and proved his importance to the Indian team across formats.
