    High speed Vandhe Bharat to soon have stoppage at Jammu as more than 80% work completed

    New track being put in place, yard being readied for maintenance

    Jammu Tawi, Jan 17: The Jammu Railway Station will soon have a stoppage of India’s high speed Vandhe Bharat Train as the new railway track is being put in place for operation of this train by the Indian Railways and more than 80% of the work has been completed in this regard, official sources said.

     

    “Apart from this, the work for a new yard for maintenance of the Vandhe Bharat train is also nearing completion at Jammu Railway Station,” official sources informed the Northlines, while wishing not to be named.

     

    They said that most of the railway staff has also been trained for maintenance and smooth operation of the Vandhe Bharat from Jammu.

     

    They said that the high speed Vandhe Bharat train will have a stoppage at Jammu within 1-2 months as the work for putting place the requisite infrastructure has been completed by more than 80%.

     

    The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, flagged off the first Vande Bharat train service to Kashmir on June 6th 2025. Since then the India’s high speed train, Vandhe Bharat, has been running between Delhi-Katra-Srinagar with no stoppage at Jammu Railway Station.

     

    As of now, the Vandhe Bharat Train comes to Katra and then goes to Srinagar, with no stoppage at Jammu.

     

    The stoppage of this high speed train at Jammu will give a major boost to the tourism as the tourists from various parts of the country will have the convenience of visiting various tourist destinations of Jammu region and then board the Vandhe Bharat from Jammu Railway Station.
