REASI, Dec 7: Students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Government Polytechnic Reasi visited the School of Mechanical Engineering (SoME) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) for an academic exposure tour aimed at enhancing their practical knowledge and skills.
The students were warmly welcomed by the faculty of SoME, led by Dr. Yatheshth Anand, the Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering. In his address, Dr. Anand emphasized the significance of hands-on learning, research, and innovative thinking in the field of mechanical engineering. He encouraged the students to explore academic opportunities with a focus on practical solutions to real-world challenges.
The visit, coordinated by Dr. Ankush Raina, Assistant Professor at SoME, included a tour of the university’s cutting-edge laboratories and research facilities. Dr. Raina provided valuable insights into ongoing research projects and demonstrated advanced mechanical engineering equipment. He also discussed how students could benefit from exposure to the latest technologies in their field.
The Training and Placement Officer at SMVDU, B. K. Bhatia, spoke to the students about the importance of continuous skill development. He highlighted industry trends in automation, robotics, and renewable energy, and emphasized the role of internships and certifications in enhancing employability.
Er. Mohd. Shabir, Senior Lecturer at Government Polytechnic Reasi, stressed the importance of the exchange of ideas and encouraged the students to explore innovative projects and consider higher education in mechanical engineering.
