    Follow Security Advisories

It is quite imperative that the people especially the tourists in Jammu and Kashmir should take the security advisories issued by the government seriously and follow the same without showing any reluctance.

It is pertinent to mention that behind every security advisory there is a solid reason pertaining to risks involved and therefore not following the same can invite trouble not only for the one who is disrespecting the orders but for the entire UT as these orders comes into force looking at the crucial security challenges especially when the prestigious Shri Amarnathji Yatra is about to start on July 3, 2026 from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes.

In this context, the advisory issued by the Baramulla Police directing the tourists not to travel on their vehicles between Srinagar and Gulmarg after 5:00 PM during the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 needs to be followed religiously. Although this has been done to ensure the smooth movement of Yatra convoys, it is important that all such directions from the government agencies should be implemented in letter and spirit and followed by the public without any deviations or dilutions.

Reportedly, no tourist vehicle will be permitted to proceed from Gulmarg towards Srinagar after 1700 hours and the same rule will be applied on tourist vehicles travelling from Srinagar towards Gulmarg during the 57 days long Shri Amarnathji Yatra commencing day after tomorrow.  These measures have been introduced in accordance with traffic restrictions notified by Traffic Headquarters, J&K, and Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir to ensure the safe, secure and seamless movement of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra convoys and facilitate effective traffic management.

It is therefore advisable that the tourists should plan and complete travel on this route within the prescribed timings. As the government has to make colossal arrangements for the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage to South Kashmir Himalayas, it is bounden duty of the public especially the visitors in Kashmir as well as in Jammu to strictly follow the directions of Police and Traffic Police personnel deployed for the security, safety and the smooth movement of vehicles and Yatra convoys.

Such behaviour from all the segments of society is essential for maintaining orderly traffic flow, which is purely in the interest of public safety, traffic regulation and the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage. It is pertinent to mention that Gulmarg Development Authority has also ordered an odd-even vehicle entry system for all four-wheeled vehicles entering the tourist resort starting July 5, 2026. This will remain in force till August 5, 2026, on a pilot basis.

All said and done, the people in J&K should make it a point to follow the directives meant for the safety and convenience of all without raising any objections because government is taking all such steps for ensuring a safe and quality life for citizens of the country whether the residents of J&K or the tourists visiting the Paradise on Earth.
