Meanwhile, individuals over 60 can still see significant improvements with a target of 6,000-8,000 steps daily, with this lower range helping to prevent loss of mobility or flexibility.

Starting slowly with a gentler routine and gradually increasing the distance and pace over time is also advised to avoid injury. Brisk-paced walks that raise the heart rate are more impactful than leisurely strolls.
