Explosive destroyed in Poonch

Poonch, Jan 29: The security forces on Saturday evening destroyed a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that was found lying in a bag recovered in Sheendra forest of Poonch District of Region.

Officials said that an information was received that an old bag was lying in Sheendra forest of Poonch after which Army and police launched an operation.

“During frisking of this bag, an Improvised Explosive Device like material with some wire and detonator was recovered,” said officials.

They added that the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) destroyed the suspected IED through a controlled explosion carried out in the area while some other material has been seized for further investigation.
