2 civilians killed in cross-firing, LeT commander trapped in Anantnag district

Srinagar, July 1: Two civilians were killed and four others suffered bullet injuries in cross-firing between security forces and militants on Saturday in the encounter between security forces and militants at Dailgam village in Anantnag district, .

The encounter is underway with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Commander Bashir Lashkariand three other militants, who are trapped in a building at Dailgam village in Anantnag district, Kashmir.

The injured civilians have been shifted to hospital.

After receiving a specific information regarding presence of militants security forces laid a cordon in the wee hours.

While the cordon was being laid some militants opened fired upon the security personnel which was retaliated. In the cross firing one woman succumbed due to injuries, police said.

IGP Kashmir Munir Khan, said all 17 civilian inmates have been evacuated from the enounter site.
