Jammu, Oct 6: The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to announce the schedule for bye-elections to the Budgam and Nagrota Assembly constituencies on Monday.
According to news agency, the poll body will hold a press conference at 4:00 PM at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, where it will also unveil the timetable for the Bihar Assembly elections and by-polls in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The Nagrota seat is likely to witness a direct contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Conference-led alliance (NC).
In Budgam, a triangular contest is expected between the National Conference (NC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Peoples Alliance for Change—a coalition of the Peoples Conference (PC), Peoples Democratic Front (PDF), and Justice and Development Front (JDF). (Agencies)
