    Dy CM seeks public cooperation in maintaining peace

    Tawi, July 17: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today sought the cooperation of civil society and religious leaders in maintaining peace and harmony in the state.

    Chairing a joint meeting of prominent citizens, representatives of various traders, social and religious organizations and Government functionaries, the Dy CM sought their cooperation maintaining peace and tranquility and facilitating effective implementation of the government's developmental initiatives.

    He said the government is taking various measures to restore peace in valley. He said there was a need to isolate the trouble-mongers so that the common people are assuaged of hardships.

    He urged the people to maintain Jammu's age old tradition of unity, brotherhood and amity and do not pay heed to the rumor mongers.

    He said all resources are being utilized to make the Shri Amarnathji Yatra peaceful.

    The participants also put forth their suggestions and assured to extend full cooperation to the administration and police in maintaining peace in the state. They also suggested involvement of the civil society of Kashmir to help in restoring peace there.

    The participants suggested for constitution of committee comprising representatives from all religions who would assist the administration during religious processions and functions.
