Jammu, Jan 7: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has issued fresh directions ordering the immediate detachment of teaching staff deployed in the offices of Chief Education Officers (CEOs) and Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs).
In a circular issued by Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, it was stated that despite repeated instructions, services of teachers continue to be utilised for office and clerical work in CEO and ZEO offices. The director reiterated that teaching staff are meant exclusively for academic duties and must not be engaged in any administrative or clerical work.
The circular directed all CEOs and ZEOs to immediately relieve such teachers currently working in their offices and ensure their prompt reporting back to their original places of posting. It further warned that Drawing and Disbursing Officers shall stop the salaries of teaching staff in cases of non-compliance.
The DSEJ cautioned that any deviation from these directions will be viewed seriously and may invite disciplinary action under relevant service rules. (KNC)
