Jammu Tawi: Sunil Dimple, president of the Mission Statehood, along with a large group of traders, staged a strong protest at Janipur High Court Chowk in Jammu, burning effigies of industrialist Gautam Adani. The protest was organized to demand action over allegations of bribery in Jammu and Kashmir and to call for the restoration of statehood, special status, and the return of the Darbar Move.

Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple questioned the role of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, which has been in power in Jammu and Kashmir for the past ten years. He demanded clarification on the distribution of bribes in the region and sought a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament starting Monday, November 25, regarding the Darbar Move, the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, and special status resolutions.

Dimple warned of starting an indefinite agitation unless action was taken against those involved in the alleged bribery scandal, particularly Gautam Adani, who he accused of defaming Jammu and Kashmir’s image in India and abroad, particularly in the New York courts. He called for a thorough investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), National Investigation Agency (NIA), and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) into who received bribes in the region.

Further, Dimple alleged that the people of Jammu and Kashmir were being exploited through the privatization of the power and electricity departments, the imposition of smart meters, and the selling of solar lighting systems by Adani. He demanded immediate relief for the people, including 200 free units of electricity, 12 LPG cylinders, and double rations for all families in Jammu and Kashmir.

Dimple also criticized the BJP and the Jammu and Kashmir administration for allegedly looting the region’s resources, leading to an increase in unemployment and the financial burden on the people. The protest was joined by several prominent leaders, including Surinder Kumar, Kewal Kumar, Vicky, Charan Das, S Bablu Singh, Neeraj Kumar, Azaz Khan, Sitaram, and Chaman Lal.
