Designated Terrorist’s Property Attached Under UAPA in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 4: Srinagar Police on Saturday attached a three-storey residential house worth nearly ₹2 crore, belonging to the family of designated terrorist Sajad Ahmad Sheikh alias Sajad Gul, in a major crackdown on terror assets.

Officials said the property, built on 15 marlas of land at **Rose Avenue, HMT**, is registered in the name of Gul’s father, **Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh**, as verified by revenue authorities. The attachment was executed under **Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA)** in the presence of an Executive Magistrate.

Police said the action is linked to **FIR No. 235/2022** registered at **Police Station Parimpora** under sections 13, 38, 20 of UAPA and 2/3 EIMCO Act. Investigations revealed that though registered in his father’s name, Sajad Gul is an active stakeholder and has been engaged in facilitating terrorism, spreading anti-national propaganda, and inciting disaffection through online platforms.

The spokesperson said the move is part of an ongoing strategy to disrupt terror financing and logistics. “The attachment of property sends a clear message that individuals or entities aiding terrorism will face strict consequences, including forfeiture of assets,” police stated.

Sajad Gul, declared a designated terrorist, is accused of working closely with cross-border handlers to spread propaganda and aid militancy. Srinagar Police reaffirmed its commitment to dismantle terror networks and protect peace and public order.
