JAMMU TAWI: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today reviewed the progress on land acquisition cases of Border Road Organization (BRO) under SAMPARK and BEACON, here at a meeting with concerned officers and Deputy Commissioners concerned.
Deputy Commissioners, Chief Conservator of Forest, Engineers of BRO, SAMPARK, Beacon, Chief Engineer PWD, Additional Commissioner and other concerned officers were addressed in the meeting.
The Sampark Engineers apprised the Div Com of pending land acquisition cases in
various districts of the Division. Threadbare discussions were held on each case and
the DCs informed about the current status of pending land acquisition cases besides
informing about the status of disbursement of compensation to landowners.
The Div Com asked the DCs to resolve all the pending land acquisition cases
pertaining to BRO in their respective districts for early completion of Sampark
projects. He also instructed the concerned DCs for early disbursement of
compensation amount where pending.
The meeting was informed that the BRO has completed major roads and bridges in
different districts and the work on many roads and bridges are in progress and would be
completed within the stipulated time frame to improve the inter-district road connectivity.
While reviewing the progress of work by the 13 Border Road Task Force (13 BRTF), it was
informed that (13 BRTF) has recently completed a number of roads like Agra Chak-
RS Pura – Dablehar – Arnia Khaur, Akhnoor-Sohal-Kalith-Sellawali-Palanwalla,
Battal – Mala, Kapagala – Battal, Parol-Korepannu- Rajpura, Dogra Mandir – Parol –
Janial – Bamial, Satwari- Mandal-Makwal, Battal – Narojian – Katao, Zero end to
Kachriyal View Point, Domel-Jindra-Kharta, Dhar- Udhampur roads etc, while work
is in progress on Chadwal-Sanjimore – Paharpur – Simbal, Dayalchak-Ramkot,
Basoli-Bani.
The concerned officer also gave a PowerPoint presentation and apprised the Div Com
about the issues that need to be addressed for speedy work.
The Div Com had threadbare discussions on each project/ work and directed the
concerned DCs to resolve all the projected issues on priority.
Similarly, the concerned officer of 31 Border Road Task Force also apprised about the
completed projects and roads under construction besides issues that needed to be resolved.
The issues pertaining to Land Acquisition, Forest clearance, issuance of Short Term
Permits for minor minerals etc were discussed.
The Div Com instructed the Deputy Commissioners to follow the permissions of
STPs so that STP can be issued to meet the requirements of minor minerals to BRO
for expeditious completion of work.
The Div Com took strong note of delayed payments of compensation in some districts
and directed the concerned officers to put in place a mechanism for reconciliation of
data and ensure the compensation amount is disbursed to the landowners in time.
