CRPF soldiers’ death toll reaches 8 in Kashmir

Pampore: CRPF soldiers' death toll reaches 8 with 24 other injured in the recent terror attack in Pampore, says the CRPF Spokesperson. Both slain terrorists seemed to be Pakistani Fidayeens from Lashkar-e-Toeba.

Two militants were killed in in Kashmir's Pampore town on Saturday, police said.

A top Police officer told reporters that two militants have been killed in Pampore when they attacked a CRPF party which were moving in a bus.

Talking to Today Television, LeT spokesperson Dr Abdullah Gaznawi said that it was a fidayeen attack by the terror group.

The bus was on the way to Srinagar. He said seven or eight CRPF men were injured in the attack, two of them critically injured.

Meanwhile local sources said that firing is going on in the area which has created panic. People are running to safer places.

Five CRPF jawans and two militants were killed today in an operation combating a terror attack on a CRPF convoy. Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) claimed responsibility for the attack.

Talking to India Today Television, LeT spokesperson Dr Abdullah Gaznawi said that it was a fidayeen attack by the terror group.

A group of two or three militants attacked a convoy near Pathan Chowk, close to the Army cantonment area in Srinagar, on the Srinagar- highway. This took place when the convoy was passing through Pampore town and it came under fire near Namblabal.
