Jammu Tawi, Jan 24: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday reported eight deaths and another big spike of 5,394 cases pushing the number of active cases to 44,609 in the UT.
With eight more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,613 and 5,394 fresh positive cases reported on Monday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 402,596.
Of the exact number of 402,596 cases, 254,596 are from Kashmir division and 147,998 from Jammu division.
Officials told that among 5,394 new cases, 3,349 belong to Kashmir division while as 2,045 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 254,598 including 221,171 recoveries and 2,360 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 147,998 including 132,203 recoveries and 2,253 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 44,609 including 31,067 from Kashmir division and 13,542 from Jammu division.
With 3,643 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 353,373 which is 87.77 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 2,045 from Jammu division include 1,204 from Jammu district, 234 from Udhampur, 40 from Rajouri, 187 from Doda, 34 from Kathua, 71 from Samba, 40 from Kishtwar, 15 from Poonch, 121 from Ramban and 99 from Reasi, while as 963 from Srinagar, 514 from Baramulla, 574 from Budgam, 188 from Pulwama, 267 from Kupwara, 229 from Anantnag, 252 from Bandipora, 51 from Ganderbal, 276 from Kulgam and 35 Shopian in Kashmir division” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
In Jammu division, 67,368 including 57,392 recoveries and 1,187 deaths are from Jammu district, 13,305 including 12,100 recoveries and 143 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,142 including 11,455 recoveries and 243 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,987 including 8,031 recoveries and 139 deaths are from Doda, 10,573 including 9,889 recoveries and 158 deaths are from Kathua, 8,194 including 7,591 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 5,195 including 4,966 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,212 including 6,798 recoveries and 104 deaths are from Poonch, 6,743 including 6,189 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,279 including 7,792 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Reasi.
