JAMMU TAWI, DEC 18: Meanwhile at least seven more people succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, even as 388 fresh cases, including four minors were detected across the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
While four more people died of Covid-19 in Jammu division, three others succumbed to the virus in Kashmir Valley, taking the number of deaths since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K to 1833, officials said Friday. Among others, the victims included a 52-year-old woman from Bemina, a 55-year-old man from Lal Bazar, a 62-year-old woman from Budgam, a 66-year-old from Sainik Colony and a 74-year-old man from Talab Tillo Jammu.
With these deaths, the total fatality count in J&K reached 1833—1164 in the Valley and 669 in the Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 441 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (342), Baramulla (170), Budgam (106), Pulwama (88), Kupwara (88), Anantnag (82), Doda (60), Bandipora (57), Udhampur (55), Kulgam (53), Rajouri (54), Kathua (47), Ganderbal (42), Shopian (37), Samba (34), Poonch (22), Ramban (21), Kishtwar(21), and Reasi (13). Meanwhile, four minors and twenty-one travellers were among 388 fresh cases of coronavirus detected in J&K during the last 24 hours.
In Kashmir division, 225 more people tested Covid-19 positive while the remaining 163 were confirmed infected by the officials from Jammu division.
Giving a district-wise break up of cases, officials said Srinagar reported 82, Baramulla 14, Budgam 15, Kupwara 13, Pulwama 33, Anantnag 36, Bandipora 7, Ganderbal 18, Kulgam 4, Shopian 3, Jammu 92, Udhampur 10, Rajouri 7, Doda 8, Kathua 16, Kishtwar 8, Samba 11, Poonch 2, Ramban 5 and Reasi 4 new cases of Covid-19.
Moreover, officials said, 464 more patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals— 213 from Jammu Division and 251 from Kashmir Valley.
