Jammu, Oct 25: A police constable was seriously injured on Saturday after his service rifle went off accidentally near the Jammu railway station, officials said.
Selection Grade Constable Showkat Ahmad sustained a bullet injury to his abdomen when his rifle discharged accidentally around 8:30 am while he was on duty, they said.
The injured officer was immediately rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital by his colleagues for treatment, officials added.
