Congress holds protest against BJP MLA Pathania

Jammu Tawi:  The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) staged a massive protest in Jammu North Assembly segment today, condemning BJP MLA R.S. Pathania for his alleged derogatory remarks against the Indian Air Force.

Led by senior Congress leader and former Minister Mula Ram, along with JKPCC Vice President Hari Singh Chib, the protest drew a large turnout of Congress workers who raised slogans against the BJP and demanded legal action against Pathania. Protesters termed the statement “anti-national” and called for treason charges to be filed.

Mula Ram criticized the MLA’s “irresponsible and baseless” comments, asserting that they insulted the sacrifices and professionalism of India’s armed forces. “Such remarks demoralize our brave soldiers and tarnish their honour, especially after their remarkable performance during Operation Sindoor,” he stated, referring to the Air Force’s role in the recent cross-border military operation.

Hari Singh Chib accused the BJP of politicizing national security and questioned its commitment to patriotism. “It is disgraceful for someone who represents a party that claims to be the flagbearer of nationalism to make such demeaning statements,” he said.

Calling the remarks a direct affront to national defence forces, the Congress leadership demanded immediate disciplinary action and legal accountability.

Prominent Congress members present included Rajinder Singh Jamwal, Bittu Rampal, Ramesh Hans, Vidya Sagar Sharma, and others.

The protest concluded with calls for BJP to publicly disown the MLA’s statement and affirm support for India’s armed forces.
