CM Sharma hails CS for keen interest in Tawi River Front Project

Senior BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma paid rich tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh describing him as the most progressive and judicious minded King in the whole of British . He was addressing the participants in celebration of Maharaja Hari Singh at Tawi Aarti Ghat at Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, C M Sharma who is convenor of Tawi Andolan and Namami-Gange urged upon Chief Secretary Dr AK Mehta to ensure participation of prominent social organizations and civil society in their much aspired Tawi River Front Project to restore historical heritage of holy Tawi Putri. He said, “PM Modi is kind enough to sanction a much ambitious project to save Holy Tawi from extinction and pollution, given Rs 187 crore funds for seven km long Tawi restoration to its origin.” He also commended Dr Mehta for curtailing the execution period from 18 to 12 months.

C M Sharma hopes Jammu people will see beautified and Clean Tawi by December 2022 as declared by Chief Secretary in a meeting of senior concerned Officers of executing agencies.

Convenor Tawi Andolan thanks Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha who is committed to transforming UT and appeals to include local prominent social organizations and citizens in Tawi River Front Project. Others who paid tributes to Maharaja include Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Sharma, Balvinder Singh Vice President Tawi Andolan, Zorawar Singh President Team Jammu, Davinder Singh Kaloria President General Zorawar Singh Trust, Prof Shalini, Kanav Sharma Legal Incharge BJYM J&K, Pankaj Khajuria, Swarna Bhagat, Chairperson Women Credit Cooperative Limited and Raman Sharma. Jackson and his team presented a beautiful dance and cultural programme. Vote of thanks was presented by Raj Kumar Gupta of Tawi Andolan.
