Srinagar: Omar Abdullah on Sunday unveiled a development package worth nearly ₹40 crore in Ganderbal and laid the foundation stone for Phase-I of the Sindh Riverfront Project.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated and inspected multiple development and public welfare initiatives aimed at boosting tourism, urban infrastructure and healthcare facilities in the district.
A major highlight of the visit was the launch of the first phase of the Sindh Riverfront Project, which is designed to enhance the area’s scenic appeal, promote tourism and create modern public spaces along the banks of the Sindh stream.
In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare, Abdullah also inaugurated advanced DEXA Scan and Fibro Scan facilities at District Hospital Ganderbal. The new diagnostic services are expected to improve patient care and reduce the need for referrals outside the district.
Officials said the initiatives are part of the government’s broader efforts to upgrade civic amenities, healthcare infrastructure and tourism facilities across Central Kashmir.
Local residents and officials welcomed the move, expressing hope that the projects will accelerate development and improve essential public services in the district. (KNC)
