CBK Conducts Multiple Raids in Central Kashmir in Cheating Case

Srinagar, Sept 27: The Special Crime Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) on Saturday carried out coordinated raids at multiple locations in Srinagar and Budgam as part of an ongoing investigation into a cheating and forgery case.

The operation is linked to FIR No. 05/2025, registered under sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), and 471 (using as genuine a forged document) of the Indian Penal Code, officials said.

Teams of the Special Crime Wing conducted searches in the jurisdictions of Bemina, Saddar, Karan Nagar, and Kralkhud police stations in Srinagar, as well as at several locations in Budgam district. Multiple premises connected to suspects were searched, and incriminating documents and other materials were seized for further examination.

“Due warrants from the competent court were obtained before conducting the raids. The operation is aimed at uncovering the full extent of the fraud,” officials said.

Sources added that searches are still underway at several locations as the investigation continues.
