New Delhi: The Budget Session of Parliament will conclude today, with the Rajya Sabha expected to take up the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, for consideration and passage.
The session was held in two phases, beginning on January 28 and continuing till February 13 in its first leg, while the second phase commenced on March 8.
During the session, Parliament approved key financial legislations, including the Finance Bill, 2026 and the Appropriation (No. 2) Bill, 2026.
In the first phase, discussions were held on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address as well as the Union Budget for 2026–27.
The second phase witnessed legislative business and deliberations on various national issues, including the ongoing West Asia conflict.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed both Houses during the session, outlining the government’s stance on the evolving situation in West Asia and its implications.
The session also saw debates and discussions on economic measures and policy priorities of the government for the coming financial year.
