Budgam, Feb 8: In a major action against drug trafficking, Budgam Police have attached an immovable residential property valued at around ₹50 lakh in the Humhama area of Budgam district in connection with a case registered under the NDPS Act.
According to a police statement, the attached property is a double-storey residential house belonging to an alleged drug peddler, Irfan Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Ashraf Dar, a resident of Humhama.
The attachment was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in FIR No. 44/2020, registered under Sections 8 and 21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Budgam, the statement said.
Police said the move is part of an ongoing crackdown aimed at dismantling drug networks by targeting and confiscating assets generated through the narcotics trade.
Budgam Police have urged the public to cooperate and share information related to drug peddling to help in building a drug-free society. (KNC)
