BSF troops foil infiltration bid in J&K’s Samba

JAMMU, Mar 11: Border Security Force (BSF) troops successfully foiled an infiltration attempt along the International Border in the Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir on the intervening night of March 10-11, officials said.

According to sources, BSF personnel noticed suspicious movement near the Khora Post and fired a few rounds to thwart the infiltration bid. Following the incident, senior BSF officials, accompanied by the police, arrived at the scene at first light to assess the situation.

A search operation has been launched in the area, and security forces have been placed on high alert. This incident comes just days after the Director General of BSF, Daljit Singh Chawdhary, visited the Jammu Frontier to review security along the Line of Control in Poonch District and the International Border in Kathua District.

The situation remains under investigation, and further updates are awaited.
