BMO Handwara suspended over use of un-parliamentary language, misconduct

Srinagar, June 10: Authorities in and have suspended a Block Medical Officer (BMO) after committee's recommendation and attached him to the office of CMO Bandipora.

An official told news agency, that an enquiry committee was framed after a written complaint by elected representatives of Chougal Handwara against the concerned BMO.

An order issued by DHSK in regard stated that a written complaint was submitted by the elected representatives of Chougal Handwara seeking action against BMO for using unparliamentarily language and failing to meet the required demands.

“A committee was formed to ascertain the facts, an enquiry team of officials was constituted to conduct the enquiry and submit the report within two days,” the order said.

It said the enquiry team after furnishing the report stated that the BMO has not been able to prove his ability as an administrator besides that committee also said the doctor uses un-parliamentary language for public and abuses the female staff.

The inquiry committee had recommended for immediate suspension of BMO. The order furthermore said that BMO Dr. Ab Majid Bhat, on basis of committee recommendation has been placed under suspension and attached with chief medical office (CMO) Bandipora till further orders and the necessary charge-sheet shall follow.—(KNO)
