Srinagar, Dec 04: PDP President and former chief minister J&K Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said that barring people of J&K from peaceful means of dissent shows BJPs nervousness and failure on all fronts.
Taking to micro-blogging site twitter, the PDP chief said “Farmers protests have brought GOI to its knees. BJP is scared of people's power & that's why a reign of repression has been unleashed in J&K since illegal abrogation of Article 370. Not allowing any peaceful medium for dissent shows their nervousness & failure on all fronts”.
Mehbooba who is a constituent of People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) and its acting vice-president had alleged that she was told by New Delhi to fall in line or bear consequences if she will not stop talking over Article 370 after her year-over detention was ended.
Notably the semi-autonomous position of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 was abrogated on August 5, 2019 by GoI and downgraded the structure of erstwhile State of J&K into two Union Territories.
