Rajouri, Nov 17: Foiling a bid to black-market Bitumen meant for use of General Reserve Engineering Force (GREF), Police here in Jammu Region’s Nowshera area in Rajouri District seized an official vehicle and seized 24 barrels of Bitumen, which were being transported to a private mixing plant.
Police claimed that an information of suspicious movement of a GREF tipper in Dandesar village of Nowshera was received after which a team headed by SHO Nowshera- Inspector Pankaj Sharma intercepted the vehicle at a private mixing plant in Nowshera.
24 barrels of Bitumen were seized from the spot which were being sold to the private mixing plant namely Krishna Hot Mixing Plant.
Two persons identified as Daleep Kumar of Gambhir Brahmana (Driver) and Rattan Sharma of Gambhir Brahmana have been arrested, police said, adding that a case under FIR number 236/2021 under section 109, 409 IPC has been registered at PS Nowshera and investigation has been initiated.
The GREF vehicle alongwith 24 Barrels of Bitumen have been seized.
