Jammu Tawi: Allowing Mahajans, Khatris and Sikhs to buy and sell agricultural land will lead to multi-factorial benefits including agricultural advancement, financial growth and improved employment in Jammu & Kashmir, said J&K BJP Chief Spokesperson Adv. Sunil Sethi accompanied by BJP Media Secretary Dr. Pardeep Mahotra in a Press Conference addressed at BJP headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. BJP welcomes the decision of Jammu and Kashmir administration, in which Mahajans, Khatris
and Sikhs get the right to buy and sell agricultural land in J&K for agricultural and allied activities, Adv. Sunil Sethi said. He added that the Mahajan, Khatri and Sikh communities have long been demanding the right to buy and sell agricultural land.
Sethi said BJP J&K has long been vocal for the demand to give rights to these 3 communities and highlighted the issue at every administrative level right from Jammu & Kashmir to the Union government level. He said that these laws existed before the reorganization of the state which remained there even after the new laws of Union Territory were framed. The J&K BJP immediately raised the issue before Lieutenant Governor of J&K UT and with the Union Home Ministry. He said that with the great efforts today the justice has been served which is a matter of pleasure for all of us. He said that J&K BJP is steadfast to raise all the issues of public importance at the appropriate level, be it at LG level or Union Ministry level for their prompt redress.
Sethi also said that targeted killings in Kashmir are dreadful attempts to derail the peace and progress process in J&K by Pakistan and its supporters. Our security forces are successfully eliminating terrorists responsible for the carnages and the non-locals will again feel safe in Kashmir, he added.
