BJP responsible for bad security situation in Jammu: Omar

    Date:

Srinagar, Sep 29: Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Sunday blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the deteriorating security situation in the entire region.

Omar said that the BJP government's negligence had led to this situation in Jammu.

“Every day there are reports of militant attacks in areas like Chenab, Pir Panjal, Reasi, Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts.  The BJP government's negligence and poor governance have led to this situation, including attacks on Yatris (pilgrims),” said Omar, while speaking to media in Baramulla district of north .

The former Chief Minister said BJP has nothing to show over the past five to six years.

“They have nothing to show for their governance over the past five to six years. With no real development to present, they are resorting to speaking against the National Conference and Congress,” he said.

Omar said that the NC- Congress alliance will form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The next government will be formed by the National Conference and Congress alliance, and no one else will be able to form the government on October 8,” he said.

The campaigning for the third and final phase of polls will be concluded on Sunday and polling will be held in 40 seats across seven districts of Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Udhampur, Kathua, Samba and Jammu on Tuesday.

On the killing of Hezbollah supremo Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli air strike in Lebanon, Omar said they have always opposed the bombing and use of force by Israel for the past year and have repeatedly demanded that it should be stopped.

“We have often condemned such acts, and we demand that these actions be stopped,” Omar said, while urging powers to intervene and pressurize Israel into halting its actions, stressing the need for peace in the region.

Omar also expressed concern about the broader implications of the conflict, stating that recent events suggest the possibility of war.

“Indian government, Prime Minister and global leaders to push for an end to the bloodshed and work towards restoring peace in the region,” he said.
