RSS panel to guide BJP Ministers in Governance!
Jammu Tawi, July 24: In a strange move, the top Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leaders have appointed a core committee to guide the BJP Ministers in Jammu Kashmir in the crucial matters of governance and legislative works, a highly placed source confided to this newspaper. This core panel will be meeting every two months to take a look at the performance of their Ministers in the coalition government and review their decisions and guide them in the matters of legislative function and also to understand the agenda of cabinet meetings before hand. Sources said that in a close-door meeting held at the residence of the Deputy Chief Minister on Saturday last, the embarrassment faced by the party due to the incompetence demonstrated by its ministers in cabinet was discussed and it was decided to avoid such situation in future. The BJP ministers endorsed Transfer of Property Act and Land Amendment Bills in the Cabinet meeting which were highly detrimental to the interest of Jammu region and that could have nullified the historic judgment of High Court of J&K scrapping the discriminatory law of citizenship and inheritance for women in the state.
According to sources, the core group consists of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Incharge North Zone, Mr. Prem Kumar, BJP's General Secretaries Mr. Ram Lal, Mr. Ram Madhav (both coming from RSS background), Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, State President Sat Sharma, State General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul (a former pracharak of RSS), senior RSS leaders Arun Kumar, ‘Prant Prachark J&K' Ramesh Pappa, Brig Suchet Singh and Parshotam Dedechi.
The recent fiasco in the performance of the BJP Ministers in the Cabinet meetings and the Legislative Assembly is said to be the reason behind taking this decision in a meeting to form such a core group the other day. It was Mr. Pawan Gupta, MLA Udhampur, who sniffed the foul play of PDP by introducing such mischievous legislation and raised the alarm over the issue and with the help of media and pressure from the centre, and thus saved the day for BJP in Jammu region.
