Two brothers perished in the Jhelum River in north Kashmir's Baramulla district, according to sources.
They said that brothers – Nissar Ahmad Malla and Hilal Ahmad Malla – drowned early today morning in the river while extracting sand near Jetty at Khwaja Bagh.
The family of the duo has been called and efforts are on to retrieve their bodies, said an official.
The brothers hailed from Littarpira village of Bandipora district, he added.
