Samba, July 10: A one-day workshop on Bloom’s Taxonomy was successfully held at Army Public School (APS) Samba on Thursday, to enhance teaching strategies and improve classroom effectiveness across cognitive domains.
The session, attended by teachers from various disciplines, aimed to strengthen lesson planning, assessment design, and student engagement. The workshop was led by Ms. Seema Abrol, an expert in educational psychology, who delivered the keynote address, highlighting Bloom’s Taxonomy as a critical framework to promote higher-order thinking skills in students.
Participants engaged in interactive sessions, group activities, and real-time lesson planning, exploring the six levels of Bloom’s cognitive domain — Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyze, Evaluate, and Create. Teachers were trained to frame competency-based learning objectives, design differentiated instruction, and create effective assessment tools tailored to diverse learners.
The workshop also facilitated collaborative learning, allowing teachers to share best practices and apply theoretical knowledge in practical classroom scenarios.
APS Samba Principal, Sanjeev Pradhan, praised the initiative, stating, “Workshops like these are instrumental in enhancing the professional competencies of our teachers. Bloom’s Taxonomy provides a structured approach to teaching that ensures conceptual clarity and critical thinking in students.”
The event concluded on a high note, with teachers feeling inspired and equipped to foster deeper learning and critical thinking among their students.
