Amit Shah terms Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bihar Yatra’ as ‘Ghuspethia Bachao Yatra’

Guwahati, Aug 29:  Terming Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar as a ‘Ghuspethia Bachao Yatra’ (rally to protect the infiltrators), union Home Minister Amit Shah today said that the more the Congress will abuse Prime Minister Narendra Modi, brighter the Lotus will bloom in the country.

“At a time when 27 countries of the world have honoured Prime Minister Narendra Modi with their highest honours, the Congress and the Gandhi family had always been trying to abuse the Prime Minister,” Shah said while addressing a gathering on the occasion of inauguration of the new Raj Bhavan in Guwahati.

Condemning Congress for abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother in a rally in Bihar, Shah said that under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi the Congress had achieved a new low.

“The rally he started in Bihar is nothing but a Ghuspethia Bachao Yatra. The Yatra is to protect the vote bank and to protect the infiltrators. How can a nation be secure when infiltrators make it to the voters list?” he asked.

Saying that the Congress rally in Bihar has broken all limits of shamelessness, Shah also urged the Congress leader to tender an unconditional apology.

The Home Minister termed the 11 years of Narendra Modi’s government as the golden period of Assam’s history.

“From the days of the Assam movement to becoming the Astalakshmi of the country, the road to development and prosperity in Assam is full of struggle, disturbances and violence,” he said.

Shah added, “It is the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who have been implementing the dreams of the six year long Assam Movement in Assam.”

The union Home Minister who had arrived in Guwahati last evening, also virtually inaugurated several other projects including the National Cyber Forensic Laboratory (NCFL) located at the Lachit Borhukan Police Academy at Dergaon in Assam, a residential campus for the SSB jawans and residential complex for the ITBP jawans etc.

Hailing the effort of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in establishing the country’s second National Cyber Forensic Laboratory at the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy in Dergaon, the Home Minister said that cyber security has become a priority as the country’s digital economy is growing.

“The NCFL will have police officials from all the northeastern states who will put in the best efforts to secure the hard earned money of the citizens in this part of the country from the cyber criminals,” he added.

Shah arrived at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International airport near Guwahati around 7.30 pm yesterday.

He was received at the airport by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, State BJP President Dilip Saikia, other BJP leaders and the leaders of NDA alliance partners including AGP president Atul Borah.

From the airport, Shah headed straight to the BJP headquarters and chaired the BJP core committee meeting. Sources in the party said that Shah reviewed the party’s preparation for the forthcoming election to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and the next year’s assembly elections in Assam.
