Jammu Tawi, April 19:
The Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer, who has been on tour Sunderbani and Rajouri has scheduled to hold a physical meeting of the district and sub-divisional officers and also of divisional and circle engineering departments on Tuesday at the Conference Hall of PWD Dak Bungalow, Rajouri to review the progress on the developmental projects in the district.
A circular issued by the District Administration Rajouri today at short notice said that the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu has desired to convene a meeting at Rajouri on April 20 and directed at least 53 district & sub-divisional officers, sectoral and all engineering department officers to attend the meeting on Tuesday morning at 10.15 a.m. sharp
with all physical and financial progress of their respective sectors.
Keeping in view the way such official meetings are conducted, an estimated 100 officers including those assisting will be participating amid the severe Covid surge in violation of official Covid SoPs in vogue.
A district officer on anonymity said it would have been better if such official meeting with such a huge presence of officials be done via virtual mode as in practice during Covid pandemic instead of physical gathering that may cause risk of exposing the functionaries to Covid infection that may be taken further to even the sub-divisional level.
Interestingly, while the Offices of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Deputy Commissioners Jammu and many public offices have deployed the police cops at the entry gates and imposing restrictions for public visit, the official circular does not mention any reference of instruction for participating officers to observe the Covid protocol.
