    All-Party Meeting Underway Ahead of Parliament’s Budget Session

    New Delhi, Jan 27: An all-party meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is underway on Tuesday to deliberate on ensuring smooth conduct of proceedings during the upcoming Budget session of Parliament.

    Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and senior leaders from various political parties, including Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, are attending the customary meeting, which is held ahead of every parliamentary session to build consensus on legislative business.

    The Budget session will commence on Wednesday with President Droupadi Murmu’s address to a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. The Union Budget is scheduled to be presented on February 1.

    The first phase of the session will continue till February 13, during which the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address will be discussed and adopted. Deliberations on the Union Budget will also take place during this period.

    After a brief recess, Parliament will reconvene on March 9, with the Budget session slated to conclude on April 2, officials said. (Agencies)
