AJKPA holds protest, project demands

All J&K Patwar Association unit Bhaderwah held a massive protest regarding their long pending demands, here today. All the Patwaries assembled in front of ADC office Bhaderwah and raised slogans in favour of their demands. President of Association Naseer Banday expressed displeasure over the “apathetic attitude” of the government, which he said forced Patwar Association to go on strike. He said that the DPC of the senior Patwaries of province is being delayed from long time. He said that despite repeated requests and reminders by the Association from time to time, nothing has been done by the authorities to mitigate suffering of employees.He asked the government to fulfill the demands of Patwar Association at the earliest, so that public may not suffer any more. The major demands of the Association include enhancing Grade Pay of Graduate Patwaris from Rs 2400 to Rs 2800, holding DPCs after regular intervals, creation of Patwar Halqas and GQ circles for smooth functioning of administrative units, banning direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, enhancing allowances of Patwaris and Girdawars, providing rent for Patwar-Khanas and private accommodations. Shabir Ahmed, Shashi Kumar, Ganesh Kumar, Mohd Ashraf, Bal Bhushan, Perveez Iqbal, Nayeem Zargar, Shaid Qayoom, Farooq Ahmed said that they have submitted a memorandum to the state government regarding their demands several time but the government only gave “fake assurances” to them from last many years.
