    Agencies Foil Terror Plot

The Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) deserve appreciation for their alertness, coordination, and efficiency in thwarting a major terror plot in Faridabad. The recovery of nearly 350 kilograms of explosives, including ammonium nitrate, an AK-47 rifle, and a large quantity of ammunition from a rented house in Dhauj village near Delhi, has once again underlined the exceptional professionalism and commitment of India’s security and intelligence agencies. Their timely action averted what could have been a devastating incident with far-reaching consequences for national security and public safety.

As per reports, the massive seizure included 14 bags of ammonium nitrate weighing about 100 kilograms, 84 live cartridges, timers, a chemical solution, and 48 other items suspected to be components for assembling improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The sheer volume of explosives recovered indicates that the accused had plans to carry out multiple high-intensity attacks. These devices, if operationalized, could have caused unprecedented destruction and loss of life. The explosives were found in a house rented by Dr. Mujahil Shakil, a student of Al Falah Medical College and a native of Jammu and Kashmir, who was taken into custody by the J&K Police on October 30 following the arrest of another accused, Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, connected to the same terror module.

This episode serves as a grim reminder that despite India’s consistent efforts to maintain peace and stability, inimical forces continue to conspire against the nation. The vigilant posture of our security and intelligence establishment has ensured that such dangerous designs are intercepted before they can take shape. Yet, this also calls for constant surveillance, inter-agency coordination, and public awareness to pre-empt such threats in the future.

It is crucial that the investigation in this case be pursued to its logical conclusion so that the entire network behind this plot is exposed and dismantled. The incident once again proves that terrorism is evolving, using new methods and unsuspecting individuals to carry out its agenda. Therefore, security agencies must continue upgrading their technical capabilities and expanding their intelligence reach to deal with these ever-changing challenges.

India cannot afford any laxity in matters of national security. The nation owes a great debt of gratitude to the J&K Police, the IB, and other agencies whose dedication and vigilance continue to safeguard the lives of millions. Their relentless pursuit of duty reinforces citizens’ faith in the country’s internal security apparatus and sends a strong message that India remains steadfast and resilient against all threats.
