Jammu Tawi, Dec 27: In a significant administrative overhaul, the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department (PDD) on Saturday ordered the placement of 40 In-charge Assistant Engineers (Electrical) as In-charge Assistant Executive Engineers on an officiating basis.
According to the order, the promoted officers include 25 degree-holder engineers and 15 diploma holders. The move is aimed at strengthening the department’s managerial and technical capacity.
Following these placements, the government also directed the immediate transfer and posting of 77 engineers across various power sector wings, including Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL), Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) and Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation (JKPDC).
Officials said the transfers have been effected to fill existing vacancies and streamline operations, ensuring improved efficiency and better functioning of the power infrastructure across the Union Territory. (KINS)
