Adm constitutes building screening committee

Srinagar, July 22:  and Administration has constituted a building screening committee to clear all proposals for construction of new buildings in UT of J&K.

As per the order, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Home department will be chairman of the committee.

Financial Commissioner (Additional Member Chief Secretary), Finance Department, Principal Secretary to Government, General Administration Department, and Administrative Secretary of the Concerned Department will be members of the committee while as Secretary to the Government, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department will be member secretary of the committee.

“Reference include to examine rationality or necessity of the proposed Building and to analyze/explore the possibility of utilization of an appropriate existing Government Building/Infrastructure for the purpose as also to determine whether renting a building would be sufficient,” the order said, adding that “the Administrative Departments shall ensure that the clearance of the Committee is obtained before processing proposals for Administrative Approval of the Competent Authority prescribed. The Committee shall be serviced by the Planning Development and monitoring department.”
