Srinagar, Apr 05: Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have rescued a girl at Mirbazar Qazigund in Kulgam district and arrested two accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
“Police Post Mirbazar received a specific information about a girl being raped by two persons inside a vehicle bearing registration number JK18A-6426 near FCI Mirbazar,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
“Accordingly, police party from PP Mirbazar under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Mohammad Shafiq immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the girl. Police have arrested two accused persons and also seized vehicle used in the commission of crime,” police said.
They have been identified as Hafiz Farooq Parray son of Farooq Ahmad Parray and Ubaid Ayoub Raina son of Mohammad Ayoub both the residents of Gadihama Kulgam, he said.
Regarding the incident, a case under FIR number 63/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and further investigation has been initiated.
“After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs,” police said.
